The Harris County Juvenile Mental Health Court is presided over by Judge John Phillips in the 314th District Court.

Welcome!

The Juvenile Mental Health Court is a voluntary, specialized, diversionary court program for families of justice system involved youth with mental health problems. Our goal is to promote public safety by providing services and treatment for youth whose mental health problems contributed to the commission of an alleged offense. With the successful completion of treatment/education programs, it is hoped the youth is less likely to have future involvement in the justice system. A secondary goal is to link families to systems of care in the community and help foster longer term relationships that continue independent of the court.

Congratulations to the First Graduating Class!

On September 27, 2009 the Harris County Juvenile Mental Health Court celebrated their first graduation.  Four youth and their families have successfully completed six months of extensive court and service provider requirements. An audience of family, Juvenile Probation personnel, county officials and community partners was there to express support.  The link below leads to TV news stories about Harris County Juvenile Mental Health Court.
