The Harris County Juvenile
Probation Department employs staff for a variety of services.
To be a Juvenile Probation Officer, a bachelor's degree in
Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field is required.
Also, one-year of experience is required in casework or a therapeutic
setting. A Master’s Degree
in human services or a related field eliminates the need for the one-year of experience.
The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department operates a
Boot Camp, a Detention Center, a secure residential treatment
center and two non-secure residential treatment centers.
Drill Instructor and Detention Officer positions do not
require a college degree.
Secretarial and Support Staff positions do not require a
college degree.
